About Sarah
I was born in England, studied law at University College London and subsequently trained as a Chartered Accountant with international firm BDO. My main interest has always been to work with individuals and micro-businesses and this led to me becoming a partner in an accountancy practice in London that specialised in arts and media clients. As one of the youngest female partners in the country I won a business award and I also appeared on tv. I have now worked in the financial world for nearly 30 years, for the last 12 years as a tax law writer. I am the author of 5 books, have contributed chapters to many more and have written numerous magazine articles.
My spiritual life has been important to me since the age of 5 when I suffered from an unidentifiable lung disorder. Whilst seriously ill in hospital I was guided by God to heal myself. I have spent much of my life processing the events of that time and the interaction of my mind, body and spirit. This led to me train as a counsellor and ultimately to learn Reiki.
I am a Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner. Reiki helped me deal with endometriosis and the resulting infertility. I subsequently went through early menopause without any dramas. None of it happened quite as I expected, especially as during this time I was drawn to live in New Zealand, but that’s part of the beauty, humour and mystery of Reiki!
Reiki keeps me focussed and centred and is particularly useful in times of stress. I am also privileged to witness miracles on an almost daily basis as I assist my students and clients to heal themselves. I love empowering people to reach their true potential. This may be through recovery from a physical ailment, coping with an unexpected life change, growing personally or learning spiritually.
It has taken time for me to appreciate that my skill with money is an important part of who I am, and to integrate this logical side of myself with the spiritual, intuitive and creative sides of my soul. I now teach and coach the process through which I create my dream life in a workshop called Money Matters.
In my spare time I jointly run a monthly coffee group in Hamilton for small business people called Connect in Hamilton and I have lots of hobbies and interests including growing organic vegetables, researching my family history, arts and crafts of all kinds, reading, swimming, kayaking and badminton. Martin and I love to travel and we recently went to Bali to celebrate my 50th birthday.
